Default I need a new crank, where to buy?

My crank is out of spec, it needs to be machined under and i don't want to have to run softer, bigger bearings. Advance has them back to OEM spec, but a friend of mine that works there said they go to **** because of the coating they remove, i need suggestions, i don't want to risk buying a used one and it being out of spec.
