I have 2 12" with a 1200 watt amp. every time they hit the rpms drop. my car idles at 1000 and drops to about 500. what can i do to make this stop.

 

do your lights dim as well? sounds to me like you need a HO alternator......try upgrading the wires under the hood and see if that helps first......

yes, definately atleast a 2 farad cap.
im running 500 rms and have a 1 farad cap and my headlights still dim whenever they hit hard.
