Default idle problems help please!

crx b16a1

the idle is sometimes good. and sometimes it drops all the way to 250 rpms and goes back up to 750-1000rpms. but sometimes it just dies completely out.

i adjusted the throttle cable for more gas so it revs higher and doesnt die out.

-no vacuum leaks i checked.

-dizzy just replaced

what else could it be?

it is on teh back of your intake manifold. It has two coolant hoses going to it on the bottom. Takes 5 minutes to change it out

EACV:
Get one from any pre-obd IM, like 88-91 Civic/CRX si's, or a 88-91 Integra will work.

As far as the idle situation is concerned have you tried adjusting the Idle speed screw on top of the TB???

i played with the throttle cable a little. and adjusted i got the idle a lot better.

another problem not sure if its the idle.

i took it out for a spin reved it high about 6k and then i put it in neutral and the rpm is stuck at 3k. then drove it around a little more normally. and the rev is back down around 1.2k. is it something on my throttle body. or do i need a new throttle cable?

Im going to have my friend do the timing tomorrow. Could that be a big issue? I thought you can advance or retard it as you wish?

I would change the FITV also. I just changed my EACV and FITV and my idle is perfect at 1100 now

is it ok that the eacv is on with one bolt? i tightened as much as i can.

with the fitv can i take it off my d-series motor?

my idle is a lot better now! thanks for everyones help

it still drops down to 500rpm and then goes back to normal 750rpm it only happens after i run the engine a little hard. otherwise while normal driving the idle is fine.

and is 1100rpm idle? i thought it was 750rpm?

It is not good that your EACV is on by one bolt. If you dont plan to use both bolts, at least use HondaBond to seal it up. I could only use 2 out of 3 bolts on my FITV because my aftermarket TB has a blockoff plate for somethign on the bottom that causes me to have to cut the top bolt hole off. I had a high idle for a day because I didnt bother using sealant, bu tI fixed it the next day.

My Idle is around 1100 because my aftermarket TB wont let it get any lower for some reason. Its a 62mm BBK TB. I would like to put an ITR TB on there, but I'm not sure if it bolts up.
