Default Update on the Prelude-powered mid-engine Mini

Note: Whine follows, referring to car in sig:

Since I'm progressing very, very slowly doing body work on the carbon shell, I need some encouragement.

You can't know how frustrating it is to have finally finished it (the chassis), have it in running condition, yet be unable to drive it. Yeah I know I can "drive it" around the block, but risk a very unpleasant talk with the cops. It won't be until the passenger compartment shell (at least) is done before I really drive it without fear of cavity searches. Before that happens insurance and registration is needed too.

So close and yet so far. I'm already sick of sanding, yet too much of a cheapskate to have the pros do it. Still haven't decided what to do about paint either. It was to be metallic gray, but since learning more about composites and heat, a lighter color may be needed, like silver. Or maybe it'll just be left in primer... I'm a bit tired of dumping money into it.

Anyhow, what's that saying, "Here's some cheese to go with your whine." I'll get back to work now, and thanks for listening...

YOU CAN DO IIIIIITTTT! Just think back on when you first started and how far you've come. You're so close and it'll be so worth it.

Keep it up! A few weeks back when I was having trouble with my prelude I ran across one of your posts. 3 hours later and I was still completely engrossed in your build logs and such, and somehow my problem seemed a lot smaller and more manageable. What you have done so far is amazing, and I can't wait to see videos of you driving it around!

Best Regards,

Peter M.

BTW, my mechanic mentioned that "There was some guy building a mini with one of these engines..." to me about a year ago... And I kind of chalked it up to Internet rumor or big talk... The idea was to fantastic... But that's YOU! People are talking about your car on the streets before it's even out of the garage... Just think of what will happen your driving around behind the wheel

wow 7 years, I don't know how you contain yourself. I mean just knowing what you are building and how fun it will be to drive would make me super anxious. I don't think I would be able to wait that long.

Sweet project.

Actually I saw a b18c5 mini with spray at nopi this year. It was in the car show. It was pretty amazing. I cant wait to see the videos of this with the power of the h22.
