is the oil pump different?

having issues with tooth skipping in a ITR block, gsr belt, gsr water pump, ITR oil pump...

tensioner is fully tight... could a replacement be the solution? thx

I am pretty sure that the Oil pump is the same in all B series motors, only the amount that it pumps is what is diffrent. You should not be skipping teeth reguardless. Also the tenstioner should be adjusted and not just all the way tight.

What cam gears are you using? as long as you have the GSR water pump and timing belt you should be good to go...HTH

The oil pump doesn't affect the cam-crank synchronization. You just have to keep trying and playing with the sprocket positioning to get it to all line up properly.

Something else to consider is that if the decks have been milled or if you're using a head gasket of a thickness different than stock, then it will make it impossible ot line up the marks.

The difference in oil pumps came with different years, not with different motors.
