Default JDM b16 wont start just backfiring

I am in a delema with my motor I cant get it to start it just turns over and backfires I have no idea why cap screws are on good wires are in the right spot it's just a JDM b16 with the following mods
cometic 40mm head gasket
gsr cams
edlebrock intake mani
and that's about it the only thing I havent did is put new plugs in but the ones that are in it are still good I think.

my friend has a b16a in his civic and when we put the motor in we tried to crank the car and it did the same thing. we changed the spark plugs wires, distributor, and spark plugs and the car cranked and ran fine. so i guess try changing the wires and stuff like that. good luck man

Be sure to check your firing order. If you have one off it may crank and back fire. Also check the ithe dizzy is not 180 out. It is pretty rare to find a dizzy that will bolt up 180 out but it has happened to me on two different occasions.
