Default No power whatsoever but battery is fine..

ok, so i took my car for a quick spin. it started right up no probs. I parked it then tried to turn it back on and I get no power. nothing at all. no headlights, nothing. completely dead. And the battery is fine, guaranteed. even switch it out for a known good one. help me out, fellas.

yeah check the main fuse under the hood.. might as well check the other 60,50, and 40 fuses ..

Also, your battery might be slowly dying, or almost dead. I had a battery that would start the car up, run all my lights etc. Then a week later, it just didn't work. So try switching your battery.. maybe a friend has one you can try out. batteries and alternators are freaks sometimes. I was shocked when it was the battery... tried changing a ton of stuff before i did that my loss.... i was searching my whole car up and down for bad grounds, fuses, wiring problems.. ended up being the battery, even though i had a charger on it.. with engine start option

no, it's not the battery in this case. switched it out and also tried it in my other car, no problems. i'm thinking it's gotta be a fuse but it isn't the 60amp or the 2 50amps in the fuse box under the hood. checked them out with a voltmeter and they check out fine.

could be your main relay, its under the dash above the hood release area. if it goes you have nothing.

try cleaning your battery terminals, make sure they hold onto the posts tightly, look for a bad ground or connection

I had the same problem and it ended up being this. Honda did a recall on this problem.

exactly what i was thinking... so I thinking it's gotta be a fuse or ground. but all fuses check out fine and the grounds are properly connected.

ok, I've ran out of ideas.. My fuses are all fine. battery is relocated to the back. never any problems. 1 gauge ground wire in the trunk, 1 gauge positive running to the starter. all my ground wires are fine. I've got an optima battery in the trunk. I am completely clueless as why I'm not getting any battery power to anything. car is completely dead, nothing going to headlights, cluster lights, anything. it's dead. I don't know what else it could be. please help!!! thanks.

I don't have a circuit breaker. The positive cable is hooked up directly to the starter. Now what do I have to consider?

Get a multi-meter or volt meter. Check you battery. It "is" fine, but check that first. Then
-Check wire running from fusebox under hood to battery
-Check wire running from battery to starter
-Check ground wires continuity

If you don't have a multi-meter or voltmeter, autozone and radioshack sells the cheap ones...so does sears.

Now, if you don't have power, by checking all of those connections, that will allow to form a better conclusion on whats wrong.

Peace and best of luck

can't be that because that shouldn't prevent my headlights, dome light, etc. from working.

it's in a battery box. i don't see how it may rub anything back there. any other downsides that i might not know about? because I figured it's just like if i had my battery in the front except with a longer + wire.

Check for continuity between your engine block and your battery negative terminal.

Check for continuity between your main fuse and your battery positive terminal.

I checked the continuity and all is fine. The car starts now but I noticed the battery seems to be getting drained with each start. Also, I'm not getting a CEL when key is in the ON position. It's supposed to come on for a quick second then disappear right when you hear the main relay "click." I still hear the click but no CEL.

As a matter of fact, the oil light is gone as well. All I get when the key is in is the battery light. The tach doesn't work either. It just stays at 0 rpm. My clock doesn't come on anymore. All this started happening at the same time.

I replaced the alternator with a known good one and I get the same results. What gives? Thanks in advance.
