Default 97-01 Prelude stereo wiring question

I'm about to run brand new wiring through my entire car for my speakers: doors, tweeters, and rear. Either I cut my factory wiring, which I highly doubt, or some of the wires are fried, because half my speakers aren't playing and it's really annoying My question is for anyone who has done this to their Lude. I have heard that on our cars (maybe cars in general?), the grommet (I think that's how you spell it) is designed to feed only the factory wires through and there's no extra space to feed wire. If this is so, is removing the factory wire very difficult? Would I be able to just cut the wire at the grommet, pull it through, and then feed the wire through, or is there some kind of factory connector for all the wires to feed into? I can already tell this will be a long task...

Well, i installed a sound system in my 4th gen prelude and i didn't have to remove any wires... i ran two 8gauges power cable, speakers and 3rca-out... you just have to remove the plastic panels and find room... use a lot of tie wraps... keep the job clean...

  1. Hi everyone I was wondering where is my amp/AFBS Amplifier on (1997 si Australian model)is as i am upgrading my front and rear speakers to Sony XS-GTF6939 and my fronts to Sony XS-XB1641 but they both sound like *** now very static as well. Do I need to get an aftermarket amp or tap into the existing wiring. Also for the rear speaker connector is it better to hard wire them together or leave them as how I’ve done it in the photo. Thank you any info will be appreciated.
