Default simpe speaker wiring question

i have a 98 prelude... im hooking up all new speakers, 2 front 2 back... my question is... on the speakers it has 2 prongs... and of course the car for that spot has 2 wires that connect to those prongs... does it matter in which order i hook them up... the wires are different colors. I tired switching them back and forth and really couldnt tell the difference... but i just want to make sure...

thanks!

Yes it makes a diff., the speakers will be "in" or "out" of phase, and it does not matter what way you do it as long as they are all the same, pos. (+) to speaker pos. (+) and neg. (-) to speaker neg. (-) or the other way around, just as long as they ar all the same, on most Honda/Acuras the brown and grays are the neg. (-) so no matter what color the other wires if there is a brown or gray wire, [even if they have tracers of a diff. color on them] they are the neg. (-) this may also help... http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf 94

Usually on the aftermarket speaker, the wide wiring tab is positive and the narrow one is negative.
