Default block guard installation method question

im wondering if theres any benefit or differences in block guard installation methods i know some people just push them right in that way doesnt seem like it add much support i mean if you can just push something in i dont think it would be doing much to help your sleeves at 9500rpm is there any body that has had them machined to fit and pressed in or even tig welded in ?

You have the right idea, the block guard should first be hand-fit and then tig welded in place. After welding the deck should be machined flat, then the final bore should be preformed.
