correct me if im wrong which i probably am, but moving the dizzy toward the firewall should be advancing and vice versa. how far can you push a relatively stock b series until it starts to detonate? obd0 by the way.

 

You need to jump your service connector and use a timing light. You shouldn't just play with your timing, even tho many will say they do.
