no to brag but still impressed....
well i wore my michilen (sp) pilot ROAD tires to the edge today in the canyons in utah. i have a cbr 600rr (04) that i bought from a car dealer and he slapped these tires on to sell. i havent gotten a chance to buy new ones yet so im dealing with these. we burned th canyon about 130ish the whole way and i didnt even head or tail shake. i have some pilot powers on order right now got them for 119 rear and 75 front. but they should be in at the end of this week. but like i said im not bragging but i am impresses with my confidence in these tires AND their ability to hold up to cornering to the very edge (wore off the arrow and mich. man!
do you think i should not push it that hard on sport touring tires? i have a helmet jacket and gloves, but no leather yet and i love to ride the canyons. i am looking at a joe rocket 1 peice leather suit for 599 right now though, and some sidi boots
I keep hearing good things about the Powers ... better than Dunlop 208s ? Feedback appreciated ... I may order Michelins next, based on comments like this.
The tires are designed to go to the edge, don't worry about "pushing" them. In fact tires have made such advances in the last few years, that even long wearing sport touring tires can outperform old model sport tires.

Have you tried Diablo Corsas?</TD></TR></TABLE>
hehe, not possible to do that for any length of time. 12mins plus flat out riding on the street is suicidal.
All of you looking for tyres here's my tip of the year. Go to your local race meet. Doesn't need to be AMA any club will do. There are shedloads of nearly new super sticky tyres for sale at nothing prices. Perfectly good for hooning around on the roads with. I know people who use tyres for 50 miles max, they get some heavy wear but last for x000 or miles afterwards on a road bike. There are no ***** compounds neither, no-one is running anything but the stickiest.

Yeah seriously. Everyone who is pushing the limit on the street thinks they're in control until something unexpected happens (animal, car out of its lane, debris) and they find out the hard way that they are not. Even if you have excellent sensitivity and control at the limit you still have zero control over what happens on the road. When you're at the limit you have little to no margin when that deer jumps in front of you or that minivan pulls out in front of you.
Not trying to be an *** but I've already seen 2 bike accidents in one day within a half mile of my house this season. And those guys probably weren't even being jackasses.

Yeah, please be safe, I still have at least 3/4 inch chicken strips because i dont want to be pushing myself or my bike when somthing unexspected happens. I value my health, family's mental well being, and financial value in the bike far to much to ride to the limit..
Either way, be safe
