Question about engine and mileage?
As you know by now I am planning on gettting an engine swap for my 99 Civic. I am either going to get a B18B1 and boost it or a B18C1 and maybe boost it later on down the road. It's probably going to be kinda hard to find an engine with low mileage(50,000-60,000 miles) What milage would be good if I cannot find one with 50,000-60,000 miles on it?

Yes but I want to have my car for a while that is why I am looking for one with that low mileage. I dont want to spend 3,000 on an engine with 100,000 miles on it.

Then don't. You sound like you've already set your mind to finding one with 50-60 k, but you don't want one with 100k. Alrighty then, how bout 75k?
Seriously, you could have an engine with 50k on it that could be more worn than one with 100k on it. A compression check should give you a good indication of the engine's health (read:ring seal).
I personally don't know why anyone would spend 3k on an engine swap anyway, but that's just me. (Yep, I'd turbo the D with that money.) Just my $.02

My D has 100,xxx miles on it and I drive it hard. I am not sure if it can handle boost. And I dont reallyhave the extra money to spend on a compression test.

A compression tester costs like 35 bucks or something at Sears. Its just a guage that you screw into your spark plug hole in the block.
Try calling HMO or IAS and see what they have in stock as far as swaps go.

I am probably going to get a USDM engine because I have heard rumors that they wont pass the emissions test. The only reason I would get a JDM engine is that they average around 30,000-40,000 miles.
