Default 69mm throttle body to big?

I have a b16a2 bottom with a b18c5 top, I just bolted up a 69mm rpm service throttle body to a port matched stock b16 intake manifold. It seems now I have nothing but problems with my idle and my car dying out in low rpm's. My only other mods are i/h/e. Is this throttle body to much for my set-up?

do you have any vacuum leaks? did you eliminate the IACV or fast idle valve?

I dont think that throttle body is too big.

Well since your Intake manifold is ported to match the size of the TB your gonna have a problem. I"d say just get a ITR intake mani with an ITR TB, or even a stock one will be fine.

I checked everything for vacuum leaks and there is none that I see. I replaced the IACV yesterday because the check engine light came on and said it was IACV malfunction. Now today I tried to adjust the idle and the car runs but the idle goes up and down from like 2500 down to like 1000 rpms. Also when I hit the gas the idle goes up like it is suppose to but it almost dies on the way down.

:cough: to much fuel.

Do you have a VAFC or anything, at least with that you can lean it out.

I do but I didn't hook it up yet because i don't know how to tune it. Also, what problems would i run into if i put the old stock throttle body onto the ported manifold?

I would not reccomand doing that at all, the TB need's to be even with the IM. I think it could also mess with the mixture.

perhaps another way to look at it is this:

a stock ITR head is going to outfow a stock b16 head. (yes i know they are the same casting(PR3), but the porting is different)
So the b16a intake manifold is perhaps limiting the air volume that actually gets into the motor.

Look into getting an AEBS intake manifold and match-porting it for your RPM service TB. Also, are you throwing any CEL's?

Yea take part of his advice, buy a AEBS intake manifold, or a Blox one, but don't port it or anything, leave it as is. Get a Type-r TB and call it a day. 69m is way to big. I know people making 230whp not even using a 69mm.

my car is throwing code 0122 which is throttle/pedal position sensor/switch circuit low input. Also throwing code 0505 which is idle control system malfunction. This is on my obd 2 diagnostic tester.
