Default 96 to 99 climate control conversion (no light!!!)

heres the deal. i converted my 96 climate control to 99. i replaced the following
the tube that connects the vents,
climate control,
si dash harness,
blower, heater, and all

but then when i turn on my lights the climate control doesnt light up but the cluster does, the radio does, and the emergency triangle does. the climate control blows when i turn it on and off and when i point to my feet face and such.. it also work for cold and hot. and the defrost a/c circulation led lights up. ive also tried three different climate controls and its all the same. ive also tried putting my climate control into another car to test it and it worked fine in the other car..checked the fuses.. unplugged the harnesses and replugged again but nothing..

my cousin did the same conversion 96 to 99 and he had no problems.. what could be my problem? any help will be appreciated!! thanks in advance

please dont tell me to search cause i wouldnt post this if i didnt find it.. unless i missed a thread that already covered this.. but thats less likely

i belive you gotta use the entire 96-98 dash harness. the climate control part will snap right in

I would say you have a bad wire or connection on the illumination wire. I have also done this conversion and there were no problems. Unfortunately I dont have a wire diagram so im not sure which wire you should check for power at this time but that would be where i woudl start.

heres my steps if you want to look through mabe youll see something. http://repo.jackmoves.com/album228

Therein may lie your problem. All you really needed was the 99-00 climate control wiring harness, not an entire dash harness.
