i have a 94 civic dx and i think it should have a 12 gallon gas tank or something around there. But i fill my car up just before it gets to E on the meter in the dash. Whenever i fill up my car when the needle is just above E or on E im only pumping in a little less than 8 gallons? is there something wrong w/ the fuel gadge or is my tank only8 gallons which seems realy small to me?

The fuel tank is actually 11.9 gallons. No serious worries, my car's gauge is the same when it sits above the E mark. When I fill it up I only can put in 9-9.5 gallons. When it actually sits on the E mark or slightly below it then it show be about empty. BTW if you're concern it might be the fuel gauge(which I doubt it) remember it cost $135 from the dealer and is a special order item.

I usually know how much I can go by the miles I've driven and cross check it with my past mileage I put on the car.

 

yeh mine always does that, and each time i try and push it lower and lower, but then at the pump i only pump like 10 gallons which means i still had around 2 gallons to play with...

but i guess the way honda thinks of it....better safe than sorry.

 

mine will go all way below the hash mark and still have 1-2 gallons left
