8500 rpm, then pop, now crazy issue ???
My buddy has a 94 Integra GSR. Mods:
Jun 3 cams, springs, retainers, header
Mild ported head and Skunk2 manifold
Head milled .030
MSD coil, cap, wires
Denso iridum plugs
ZEX 75 wet kit
Hondata tuned
Cleanest, most JDM car in the Midwest, trust me
This car has run pefectly without any problems. He took it to a professional tuner last year when he got the Hondata and it has ran great. Last Saturday night he was out with it, hit the spray, and at about 8500 he said it backfired. It started running on 3 cylinders. He brought it to the garage, pulled the plugs (#1 soaked in gas). He did a cold compression test the next night and said it was 210-220 across the board.
This is where it gets crazy... Me and my buddy go to look at it. We pull the rail and watch the injectors fire. They are all firing right and not sticking open like he thought #1 was. Put everything back together, start the car, no fire on #1. Pull the #1 plug and its soaked. We figure no spark so we pull all the injector clips off all the injectors, pull the plug out of #1 to check the spark, turn the car over and it starts to run on the 3 cylinders. Keep in mind ALL the injector clips are OFF!!! Put the #1 spark plug in with NO wire and the car won't run (put the wire on and it won't run either). No injectors clips hooked up still. Take the spark plug out and it runs. WHAT THE F*#K is going on?! LOL

make for sure the timing is all lined up. sounds like it wouldent be an injector problem. it is possible that it jumped timing causing a backfire and acting shitty now.
I don't think its the belt, but we can check. With everything hooked up, it runs on 3 cylinders. Pull the spark plug wire on #1 and there is no change in the way it runs. Its something to do with #1. Also, the car running with no injector clips only when the #1 spark plug is not in is VERY wierd.
Did you check the rotor cap and all the enternals to the distributor? Maybe #1 is not touching when the rotor passes by the cap #1 position.
