broke the hood release plastic tab
Hey,
I was wondering if there was an easy way to replace the plastic box shaped tab that you pull on to release the hood from inside your car. Mine snapped off and I wasn't sure if I could just replace that little plastic piece or if I had to replace to entire cable? Its getting really annoying using a plier to pull on the cable.
Thanks in advance.

yes, you can replace that piece, but when you buy it from honda it comes with a new cable.but you dont have to use the new cable.i forgot how much it was,not to bad though.
everybody breaks that damn thing.
i removed the drivers side kick panel, it's easier to pull on without it in the way as you can grab it further back. eventually i'm gonna strip the rest of that plastic off and jb weld something on to the metal piece.

They cost $17 from my local Honda, and I'm sure they don't cost more than 20 at any other ones. My stupid friend just broke mine a couple weeks ago and I called to see how much it costs. I'm glad you can just replace the plastic piece, the whole cable would be a bitch and a half.
Channel locks work better and don't get lost as easily.
