Default Repair hood release latch

My plastic hood release latch under the dash broke when I went to open the hood in -20 degree weather to jump start it. I can see that it is not screwed on, so I just tied a string onto it for the time being. But i would like to put another handle on it, Any ideas? Thnx.

You're going to have to replace the whole cable assembly... I think it's like $40 bucks for the part but you need to take the wheel liner, front bumper, and maybe some more crap... ($100 for Honda to replace it) I broke mine too but I just use a pair of pliers to pull the broken plastic nub. IT works out okay, because it will make it a little harder for a thief to pop the hood.

Mine broke too. I just reach in between the grill on the bumper and pull the cable from there.

You think they make it out of metal in the 1st place. I have always been scared of breaking it when ever I pull it in any car. Guess I'm just gona stick with the string. A PITA to replace. thnx
