Hood Pop Handle Replacement
ok, so the handle broke off inside the vehicle, where you can pop the hood. Does anyone know if I can just replace the handle, or do I have to replace the entire cable now? Thanks!
EDIT: This was like this when I bought it... so no... lol... I didn't break it!

Take this opportunity to relocate the hood pop and hide the cable. Good anti theft measure.

Re: (Tony Starks)
if you have to take your fender off to change that then you are doing something wrong.. it took me 15 minutes to remove the old one and run the new one in without taking the fender off..

I'm basing this on when I had to do this in my CRX... but their are clips all along the inside of the fender where the cable is attached... is it like that with the 96-00 civics? I havn't actually looked at it yet because I wanted to wait until I know that I had to replace the entire cable.

Yea, those clips will be in there, but you can pull them out with needle nose pliars and then pop them back in once the new cable is threaded through them.

But that would require taking the driver side fender off if I'm not mistaken. How else would you get to them?

You can take the fender cover(i forget the actual name the part) off.. I'm talking about the black plastic cover.. There are screws that hold it on.. Just take a couple screws off and pull it back. This will expose the clips and cable. Then just pry them off(carfefully, as to not damage the fender) and run the new cable through them and then pop them back in. It's pretty easy.
I might have taken off the wheel.. I don't remember exactly..

Re: (Slammed Si)
You've got cash! Thanks for the help man... let me know what other parts you have that I could use!
I'm looking for the cup holder for the 96-98 civics, with the little cover that goes over the actual holders... wouldn't happen to have that too would ya?? Mine just doesn't stay down.

someone was telling me that you have to replace the whole entire thing... that's why I was asking on here to get some closure... I was trying to avoid that!
They're actually one piece... I think the latch was made to be attached to the cable.
