clicking or "ping pong" sound coming from right front wheel under accel/de-accel

I am hearing this clicking sound on the driver side front. It sounds like it is coming from the suspension/wheel area. I did not notice this sound before installing the Tein's a few months ago and have just now gotten around to trying to figure out what it is. I took off the front right coil-over and made sure there weren't any rocks or crud stuck anywhere, I cleaned it all up, and I retorqued everything when I put it back together. I had someone else get in my car and just lightly drive forward and back while I stood next to it and it is definitely coming from behind the wheel. It's driving me insane. The exam same sound was heard on my friend's old Civic Si after we install some Eibach springs years ago. Never figured out what it was on his either.
My car has 50K miles and I doubt I have any bearings/axle problems, but I suppose I can't completely rule that out. Just odd it started happening after the Tein's went on.
Anyone have any clues? Jond, did you ever figure out your problem?

Not sure if its the same noise I was hearing yesterday but.... One of the two nuts that are used to secure the valve stem on my wheel came off and was trapped inside the tire, tingging like crazy at low speed. You may try and take your tire off and shake it, maybe its the same problem. Hope it helps..... I can't stand a rattle either.
sounds like your axle is bad (inner joint) if ya ask me. why not swap the susp. back how it was and go from there? at least you'll know...
Not sure if it is in the links in your posts. What fixed my "click" was simply loosening the axle bolts and then retightening them to the proper torque (I think it is 135lbft). Better yet, use new axle nuts also.
Any updates on this? That clicking is driving me insane!
I'm on stock suspension. I only hear it on first gear take-offs (not launches) and now it's moved on to second gear shifts, also. It's coming from the front driver's side wheel area.

Same sound here, for about 3 weeks now. A metal-on-metal sounding click or ping, mostly whe I'm letting out the clutch in first or second, sometimes third. And sometimes when pushing in the clutch also. But only under load.
I thought it was clutch related, so I lubed the slave cylinder as mentioned in a bunch of threads about "clutch click", but no help.
I also recently installed Konis (3 months ago) so I thought that could be it, but I can't find anything loose or out of place around the shocks.
I'll check axle nut and drive shaft bearings. Any other ideas?

mine started doing it after swapping LCAs.. same noise most others are describing and only on the driver's side.. I suspect I mis-torqued something and will be checking it out this weekend..
My car has made the same clicking/popping noise ever since I purchsed the car with 20K on the odometer. At first, I thought it was my hytech header hitting my flywheel brace. So I addressed that issue and the noise continued.
Then I though maybe it was my clutch making the noise. However, after replacing the clutch the clicking noise continued....
Now I'm at 65K and think I have isolated the noise somewhere around the front ds. I'm gonna try and tighten my axel nut and see if that solves the problem...

I had this problem right before my '98 was stolen. I would hear a clunking noise coming from the left front of my ITR during accel. and decel. I took to the local Acura dealer and they replaced both the left and right axles plus the inner one. Luckily, I was cool with the service writer and he warrantied it for me for an under-the-table-fee.

So you just tightened the f@@k out of them? Maybe I'll give that a shot...

i have the problem as well from what I can i have figured out its one of these things:
Castle nuts not tighened - tighten nuts
Cv joint going out - replace axle
Axle nut loose - tighen axle nut
Support axle bearing is loose - replace bearing or entire part/assembly
Thast all I have found out. I've done everything that doesn't cost money... and nothing has fixed it.

Lay on the ground and look on the back side of your rim. If there is any kind of greese on there than your outer axel boot ripped and it is an easy fix. Two options are replace axel and turn in old one for a core charge or replace outer boot if you are mechanically inclined to do so this route could save you a few bucks. Good luck.

axle is fine so its not that. Something is loose cause it just clicks when the car makes a slight movement and makes a click click sound like a switch.
