Does a B&M FPR fit on a D15B?
I am having trouble fitting a B&M Fuel Flow Modifier to my 1991 Civic DX w/ the 1.5 L DPFI engine. It is not clearing the DPFI box (not sure what it is called? The black box that is between the air intake and the intake manifold). It looks like I would have to cut into the DPFI box and cut away then patch to allow the new fuel reg. to fit. Any other way to do this?
The b&m fuel regulator was designed to work on the d16a6. As you can see you are having trouble fitting it on the dpfi d15b because it was not designed to work on this engine. Question for you. Why are you installing the regulator anyway?
I never saw any literature indicating it was designed for a d16a6 in fact I have seen it used on numerous D engines (although never on a d15b! LOL). Anyway I am using the regulator because I had a fuel pump failure and realized the price of a new pump, gauge, and regulator would be less than that of a stock pump. I plan to upgrade to FI in the next few years.

I should have been a little clearer in my explanation. The regulator is designed to replace the regulator used on a mpfi setup. ie d16a6, d16z6, d15b(jdm), d16y8, etc. The reason you have never seen it on a d15b is because most people convert to mpfi before modding the engine. Also I was looking at the dpfi regulator and it is completely different than one from a mpfi setup.
Fyi the dpfi system does not respond to mods very well. Also if you plan fi in the future I would highly recommend the mpfi swap or an entire engine swap.

was wumba talking about forced induction or fuel injected. i thought he was saying he was going fuel injected. i had my flamethrower ready until 91civic posted. damn
but yeah, you should do an mpfi swap before any mods and definately before and forced induction

I thought he was talking about forced induction since dpfi and mpfi are both fuel injection systems. One(dpfi) uses two injectors and the other (mpfi) uses four.

Man you guys just don't get it do you? I am asking how I can get this fuel regulator to work. I never asked for any other help or advice. Let me quote Bambi for those of you who watched "Jackass" as your childhood movie "If you can't say somthing nice don't say anything at all." and a new one is "If you can't help STFU!!!" You are too busy trying to correct, flame, and pass out unsolicited advice to be of any help. Thanks for nothing.

Wow people try to help and this is what you get. The members that have been responding know what they are doing. That fuel pressure regulater willnot work on the DPFI motor.
