Helping a friend: D15B install. Car shuts off if acceleration pedal is applied..
To make a long story short, my friend had installed his D15B in his 95 Civic EX Coupe. It has a new z6 distributor, new spark plugs/wires, etc..
After weeks of assembling the motor together, he got it to start. It idles a little rough but we believe it has something to do with the timing.
The problem is that the motor will shut off if you press the gas pedal. It seems like there's not enough fuel going to the motor but then again, it cranks and starts fine. The car shut off right when you press the gas..
What could be the problem?
Any suggestions or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
-Thank You.

Any CEL? (Check Engine Light) If so what code are you throwing.
Are all sensors connected.
Check your map sensor and your TPS sensor on the TB. they have the same connector and if they are mixed up that is a very common problem with ur dilema
