my cars throwing a code3 its a b18c5 swap i put a friends map sensor that i knew was good cause theres no cel in his car on mine and still has the light and i reset the ecu and all, the cars has a surging idle and kinda spudders in low rpms when driving but after about 3500 rpms has no problem anyone have any troubleshooting ideas

also the car seems to get pretty shitty gas mileage but i just got the car so im just try to see what i can do to fix any help would be appricated

I have same problem too. been like this for over a month now.. tried looking around for help but so far nowhere. ill let you know if i find something out..

Troubleshooting this is NOT that hard...

If you already replaced the sensor once, then you a pretty certain that isn't it. Take of the plug, and the MAP sensor again. Make sure the little o-ring is still there, and the mating surface of the TB and the sensor are clean. Put the sensor back on and tighten the screws evenly.

If that didn't help, check the connector. The little metal pins may not be making good contact with the pins inside the plug. If you are careful, with a pick you can usually fix any that aren't making good contact, or just get a whole new plug end from a spare harness or donor car.

Now of the sensor and the connector are fine, its in the wiring. You can easilly bypass the factory wiring here. Just use a Helms manual and determine which wires at the ECU are for the map. Cut them from the factory harness, and run new wires in a new harness (3) out to the MAP sensor and hook it up that way.

If, after all that, there is STILL an issue, set the car on fire.

Edit: And that code is defiantly causing your horrible gas milage and overall shitty running car.

I had the spuddering in low RPMs on my car when i bought it i checked the codes and it said it was an MAF sensor but it ended up being random misfire in 1 and 2 cylinders try replacing the plug if not TPS might be something to check into
