The AC just suddenly stopped working. The clutch does not engage, nor does the condensor fan at all. Checked all the fuses, relays and they all check out okae. The only other thing i can think of is the AC switch on the climate control. The car is a 99 accord lx. When i press the other 2 buttons beside the AC button, the front window defroster and the recirculation thingy, it mkaes a noise, and you can hear it turning on, but when i press the AC button, nothing happens at all. The light still comes on.. but could that be the problem? I guess my only soltuion would be to buy a new climate control? N e body else have probs like this b4? t hanks

 

You have to have the blower fan turned on for the A/C to run?? Other than that it sounds like you might have lost enough of the freon charge that the low pressure switch has shut down the system.

 

the blower fan isnt even turning on.. and there is still a lot of freon in the system. It was not a gradual thing.. .it just stopped working suddenly one day.

 

you say the blower isn't working? It may have burnt out your switch in that case. There's a lot of electricity flowing through those circuits.

 

when you say it makes a noise and you can hear it turning on do you mean the blower motor?? are you getting any air from vents at all?? you said blower motor does not work do you mean when engaging the a/c or at all times

 

i menat that the blower motor works fine. its the condensor fan that usually comes on when the AC is on. On my civic, with the ac on and the car off, the condensor fan would turn on, but it is not doing that in the accord.

 

ok try a quick test,,,put ignition on, put a/c on , both fans should come on but you are saying cond fan in not coming on ok get a big screwdriver and hit the condensor motor i have seen many many motors go bad if it come on there is your problem ,,,,if it does not unplug connector and chk to see if you are getting power and ground at motor if you are replace motor if not you got electrical problem fuses, relay wiring

 

y can't it be the climate control? It can also be the climate control right?

 

I have a honda accord 2002 and the AC switch including the climate control switches suddenly stopped working, the switch for the fan is working and its blowing air. Please HELP, i dont know what happened

 

Did you get an answer...mine does the same thing after driving 15 mins...all lights for climate control turn off too...someone said its the whole control panel....the next day it turns on again.
