Code check on EK?
I need to check the codes on my 97 civic. I did everything I was supposed to do to get the check engine light to start flashing. But it won't do anything. Is the plug a blue plug on the EKs? All I did was took a peice of wire and put one end of the wire into the left slot and the other into the right slot. I'm not sure what else I should try.

i'm assuming you are doing it correctly.does the check engine light stay on solid when you turn the key to on?or does it come on for a couple seconds like normal, then cut off?if it stays on,that means you have no stored codes.if it is cutting off, make sure you have the right connector, and make sure that the wire you're using to short it is making good contact.

It's staying on solid the whole time. But if you turn the car one it'll throw code 65. I'm not but I think something is messed up in my wiring. I'm running the 00 si harness and 00 si ecu on my car.
Did you do a bunch of re-pinning to get that harness to work?
OBD2b harness into an OBD2a chassis is a no-no.
In order for this to work, people will usually buy a OBD2b-OBD2a jumper harness.

yeah I wasn't the one that did the swap in my car so I figure the person didn't do all the repinning. I did a bit of research on it and I am reading you should take the stock harness and build it to work and use like a p28 chipped.

Yes, you should have used the stock harness. Whether you went OBD1 or not, was up to you. If you wanted to use the Si ECU, you would have had to purchase an OBD2b-OBD2a jumper harness and then add a few wires that your stock harness is missing (like VTEC).
You can go the OBD1 route and use a P28 - you still need a jumper harness and to add extra wires to the stock harness though.
