Alright this story gose back a few weeks......my car was running fine tuesday night wednesday my check engine light came on and i did not check the code i just reset the ecu,but my car seemed to be idleing kind of ruff i just forgot about it. anyway last night i was looking under the hood and checking everything so checkd to make sure that all the spark plug wires were on the dist cap ok and it seemed like one was not all the way on so i pushed it on and took a ride, damn my car is flying now! the wheels are spinning in 2nd again, but here is my question.....if the wire was off would'nt the check engine light come on again? and could this wire make this much differance? i drive a 99 civic si w/greddy turbo

Partially connected spark plug wire will cause the cylinder to randomly misfire. You'll usually throw a code 71-74.
