High startup idle at 2k rpm and takes like 15 minutes to go down to regular 900rpm idle?
When I start my car up cold, it idles at 2500rpm to 2000rpm and sits there for over 10 minutes while the car warms up? This isn't right and I want to know how I can change the idle on the throttlebody to go down. Now I know all cars idle a little high cold, but not this high. Its ridiculous.
Also, something in the throttlebody is sticking and after its warm the idle gets stuck at 1300rpm and I have to tap the gas to get it to go back down to 900rpm regular idle.
These 2 issues are driving me nuts. Does the tb just need an adjustment or would a new STR 70mm tb take care of the problems?

bumping this back up, i have a problem that is sorta the same. I was told i need a new throttle body gasket. Mine idles on cold start at 2500-3000 then after warm up its back to normal. When i BARELY tap the gas...the rpms drop like 200-300 rpms then it goes up.
Any help would be great.
Oh, its a jdm b18c gsr in 94 civic dx that was converted to a 5-speed.

Could the Ecu have something to do with it? Its a ericks racing street chip. slightly upgraded fuel maps and 5200 vtec kick.

all of you guys need a new intake manifold gasket and tb gasket becuz the problem sounds like thats where its coming from. also, loosen up the throttle cable a bit becuz I have had the same problem becuz I tighten the cable up a bit to where the butterfly doesnt open so I can get a better off the line response but I tighten it too much to the point the cable would keep the butterfly open a tad bit but enough to raise the idle. all you guys need to do is loosen up the cable, spray some carb clean inside and around the spring that keep the butterfly close becuz the spring can only do so much and you should be fine. let me know whats up afterward all. hop this help.

Check the Fast idle thermo valve located below the throttle body on the i.m. I had the same problem with my car, so i took it off and plugged the holes. Problem fixed. THe car just takes a little longer to warm up now.
