Well I have a 94 dx and its not hard at all.i don't know if it will be any different for a motorized one froma del sol but i kept a wire tied to the end of the old antenna so its easier to pull the new one through.I don't know if your interested but a company called autoloc has a invisible antenna that you can install and offers alot better reception.

i pretty much only listen to the news when i listen to the radio... perfect reception. just don't want no kid running by and deciding to snap off my antenna because they're bored.

i think there's a plug on the passenger side(?), inside the rear speaker area. to take it out, you have to go throught the trunk. i don't remember how i did mine. its been a while.

well, i've tried external antenna's. stock sucks. current one i have sucks (not sure of brand). i'm going to try one of those internal amp powered antenna's. i heard they're much better.

120$ that's madness. i been researching, and i believe i can use a universal motorized antenna if i keep my stock grommet.

Hey, don't bother with a universal, Ive tried 3 different kinds to no avail. You can get the grommet off but then you cant attach it to your shaft or its the wrong size ext. I tried all different ways of doing it with no luck. Im not saying you shouldn't try it but im warning you its 99% possible it wont work.

If you want to remove your antenna from your sol tho, you unscrew the cap on the outside, then remove the interior carpet on the right side of the trunk, once you have that out there's a bolt that holds the antenna to a metal bracket that will cut your hands up if your not careful (Its a bitch bracket as i love to call it) then you should be able to pull it straight down. Remove the antena wire, leave the drain hose attached, and take the other piece off from the top of your car.

Its easy to change out, The reason a universal one wont work is because of the extreme angle of the fender, the universals I've seen only go to about 30' some degree angles and the fender is about a 45' angle, There's probably a antenna that will work for some other non-Honda car but i haven't found it yet, Personally im gonna break down and get the OEM from Honda, At least then if it ever goes bad ill have the mast and can hopefully swap that onto a universal in the future if necessary....

The drain tube?

To do that just take the carpet off and pull the tube off of the antenna and wash it out, it just sits in there and runs down to a drain hole in the fender somewhere (I forget where exactly.) Its a simple matter.....

What color did you paint your car btw?
