Default rpms drop when i press on throttle

ok so i have a first gen b16 with a 2000 si head in my 91 civic. for about 2 minutes after i start my car it acts up. when i push on the throttle my rpms drop almost to stal then they jump back up if i keep my foot on the throttle. and i also get a very strong smell of gas too. so i think my air to fuel ratio might be messed up but i dont know where. do any of you know where to start? thanks

Actually, white smoke isnt kewl. It means you're leaking coolant into your combustion chamber, probably a bad head gasket. Check your oil and check it's consistency. If it's watery, then you're getting coolant into your combustion chamber and into your oil. Also, you can check your coolant resevior and see if it looks oily.

Once again.,,,, holly crap

White smoke with a "sweet smell" is burning coolant, could be a head gasket.

Grey/Blueish smoke is oil, could be valve seals or piston rings. Get a compression and leak down test.

Black smoke, or black residue on your bumper abover you exhaust tip is usually a sign of running very rich.

The air fuel gauge wont really tell you anything, they are more for show. I wideband will actaully tell you more. What ECu are you running? Any other mods to the car? O2 sensor hooked up?

ok so i took out my spark plugs and they looked good. one looked a little old. But all that they had on them was white resedue. Another thing i forgot to mention was that it hesitates in fifth going around 35 or 70. At 70 i will have to push the throttle down a bit to get it to speed up at all. dont know if that tells you guys anything.

Actually replace the plugs with some NGK V-Powers. They cost about two bucks each at any parts store.

You could have a sticking injector. Some injector cleaner may help.
