Default "Rattley" noise from my shifter......

Put my B16B swap in yesterday and it runs great....after I drove home tonight the shifter became very "loose" and "rattley". It will still go into gear, but the shift lever itself seems to be sitting too far towards the rear of the car, and it just flo[ps around...I mean I can feel it hitting the unibody of the car when I push it to the left and right...doesn't take ANY effort to do that either. I dunno what is wrong, but I'm scared.

what shifter are you using oem or aftermarket?, looked under and see if it's touching anything? tighten up everything?

No light where the car is parked, and its too low to get under...plus no jack. I left all my toosl and stuff at home when I came out here for school. The rattle and stuff is in relation to how it feels......it still shifts ok, but its all loose. I just need some idea of what it is so that I can check it at school tomorrow.

Its an OE CTR shifter and shift linkage.

Mine started rattling after I put in a short throw and bushings...everything is tight and shifts fine so I just turn up my stereo.

Maybe you misse dth part about it hitting the sides of the littel hole that the shift lever comes through. I can bang the hell out of the sides of it with the shifter itself. Screw it...I'll put it on a lift at school in teh morning.

Easily fixed. The 12 mm bolts have TINY washers on them from teh factory. Honda can lick my *****. A pair of 5/16 flat washers seems to have made everythign nice and toight like a toiger again.
