Default VSS problems after Quaife install

HAs anyone else had this problem. I habve had this problem for about 1.5 years now, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or if anyone has a solution. Speedometer doesn't work, yes I have replaced the VSS (3 times), and I still have the same problem. When the cor throws this code it disables VTEC until you restart the car, someone has to have had this problem also.

First you need to check the wiring. The vss has 3 wires. 1 is ground, 2 is ignition, and 3 is vss signal(square wave). If all 3 wires check out then check the speed sensor itself. Remove the 10 mm bolt and pull the sensor out, look into the tranny to make sure you have a speedo gear on the diff. If so the make sure it looks as if it will mesh with the gear on the sensor. If that looks good then remove the top portion of the sensor to expose the pin. reinstall the sensor and start the car with the tires off the ground. Have someone put it into gear and get the tire turning. Once the tires are turning you should be able to see the pin rotating. if the pin is turning then i would have to say the sensor portion is bad.

Good Luck.
