Default Where to get metric fine thread, fully threaded bolts 12mm+?

Need to get some 12mm and 14mm metric fine thread bolts that are full threads and longer than 50mm, I have lots of extra honda bolts in boxes but they are either two short or too long and if i cut the longer bolt, then there is not enough thread to tighten the bolt the whole way, the part of the bolt with no threads starts to touch.

Can't change the thread, some of these bolts are to hold the trans to the engine and for some other stuff. Dealer only has the stock bolts, I'm looking for a more universal long bolt that can be cut if need and still have pleanty of thread.

Local ace hardware has 12mm fine thread but length is not right, too short (and expensive )

Ideas? websites? any help?

They have some but you're limited there too. I think they have the pitch and length you're looking for, but they're not fully threaded. Why do bolts that long need to be fully threaded? That's an awful lot of threads. Good luck!

I just wanted the longer bolts to be fully threaded that way I could buy boxes of the longer full thread bolts and if i needed shorter bolts i could cut them and still have thread, it would be more simple that way.

It looks like i will have to figure out what length i need and order them that way since i see on that site that really long fully threaded bolts in metric fine thread don't really exist. They are pretty good price tho, box of 10 - 12mm 1.25 70mm long for like $8. Honda wants $4 for one bolt this size.

It just kind of sucks cuz i don't know what length bolts i need untill I start putting stuff together then i have to stop cuz i don't have the right bolt and very hard to find locally. Thats why i wanted longer full thread so if i needed a shorter one i could cut it and if i needed a longer one i would already have it. Guess it can't be that simple

Buy some threaded rod in the right size and a lot of nuts. Cut the threaded rod to length and weld the nut to the end, dress the weld with a grinder and you are done. You could make any size bolt this way and if the weld is done right it will be just as strong as a regular bolt.

Can you use them if they are 100mm in length?

Actually yes, 100mm would be great if they were full thread and metric fine.

I am going to go through what i need in the next few days to see how long and what bolts i think i might need, it just pisses me of not being able to get them soon and when i need them i don't have the right ones. So i'm going to go through and if i have to, order 10 of each from the mcmaster website. Thats the cheapest i've found metric fine thread bolts so far.

If you really can use the 100mm let me know, we have plenty in stock.

Like I said before even if they are two long (100mm will be to long for a lot of the places i need the bolts for) I will cut them and still have plenty of thread left. Plus some of the holes i'm going into the threads don't look all that great and i want to go slightly deeper than the original bolt to get into good threads.

100mm bolts work good to use for studs insted of bolts too some loctite, a nut on the bolt, tighten it up and cut to length needed, taper the end to a slight point, and then remove the nut to clean up the threads, then you have instant cheap stud.

mbpwrx - how much for the bolts? PM or let me know how many you sell or if you sell boxes, then how much.
Clayton - m12 x 1.25 x 100mm fully threaded.

I need some 14mm fine thread metrics full thread also but right now i'm not sure of the length needed. What do you guys have in 14mm? price on those too.

The threaded rod idea is a good one, but from a design standpoint it's not all that safe. Typically automotive bolts are grade 9.8 or or 10.0, whereas the highest grade threaded rod you can buy is grade 5. Moreover, welding a nut to the end of the rod is going to locally harden the material in and around the weld and anneal it further down the length of the rod, right in the are that will be stressed after it's torqued. This will most likely cause yielding in the threads and ultimately lead to failure.

Not such a good idea when installing transmissions and suspension components...

Just buy the bolts you need. You'll be glad you did later.

I would get a die and turn that bolt into a fully threaded bolt.

Try http://www.marylandmetric.com They pretty much seem to have any metric size you could want.
