Default Gas Cylinder?

Anyone ever use a nitrous bottle as a cylinder to hold your argon to weld?

I don't think so...becuase i think most nitrous systems run around 1000psi while your argon is stored at 2200 or so psi. Although i am not sure what the actual nitrous bottle is capable of holding, it may be enough, but i doubt a station would even fill it....you could always buy your own bottle and paint it

If you find a company that will do that, they're ******* idiots. It is illegal to do that. Not only that, but your flowmeter won't hook to a nitrous bottle.

If it were that easy to find a cheaper alternative, somebody would have already come up with it.

There's laws and regulations about putting gasses into bottles, and such. Anybody that will put aargon in a nitrous bottle is likely risking huge fines and jailtime... and they don't want to do that so you can save $50.

If you think finding an exhaust shop that will take out your cat converter, just try and find a place to put argon in a nitrous bottle.

80 still isn't that big. You just probably don't want to have to find time every time that you have a MINOR project to get a refill. I run out of 80's quickly. Sad, yes, I know. It might be time to upgrade.

Just buy/lease the proper setup from your local welding supply place. Your safety is not worth saving $50....nevermind the fact that you will be buying a tank that no place will fill. So where is the savings then? You have a tank you cant use.
