Throttle Sticking on the 92
Ok so im looking to buy this t/c b16 civic and the only thing that has got me worried is that its sticks at 2000 RPMS at every stop light. You have to blip the throttle to get it to go down to idle. WHY?! Also, what rpms are you guys turning about about 70 mph? Thanks.
at 70mph it depends on what gear your in and the throttle cable just get a new one they are 30 bux for a type R take care of your problem
unhook the throttle cable from the throttle rotor and the throttle pedal.move the pedal thru it's range of movement and check for binding.now slide the cable back and forth and check for binding.also move the throttle plate thru it's range of movement looking for binding.
if the pedal binds, try lubing the pivots and looking for obstructions.
if the cable binds you can try cleaning/lubing it,but they're only about $20 new anyway.also make sure it's not routed in the engine bay in a way that kinks it.
if the throttle plate sticks, check for carbon buildup around the throttle plate.

i had the same problem with my crx b16. all you have to do is trim your thorttle cable boot in half. problem solved. unless its the butterfly gettin stuck. then some TB cleaner would work
