For about a month now I've been having a problem where when the car is cold (only in the mornings, and only on the coldest fall-like mornings) it gives quite a loud vibration at stop lights. I had noticed before that the throttle was getting a little sticky, and sometimes would stick fairly open. So we came up with the theory that when the engine is cold it is idling higher than normal, and coupled with maybe the throttle being slightly stuck could have the car idling over the torque converter, and thus it being somewhat engaged when I'm stopped.

I cleaned out the throttle body and the exterior linkage with throttle body cleaner, but I'm still having the sticking throttle issue and the cold morning vibrations. Could I assume it the cable that goes into that sleeve, and if so, do I just have to replace it, or is there any way to lubricate it?

Anyone ever had a similar experience with a sticky throttle cable? Any way to fix it without replacement?

throttle cable is about $30..and i think if thats the issue..simply replace it..

Will it simply be the cable I can see coming from the throttle body and going to the firewall, or could something be seized between the firewall and pedal?
