Bad oil pressure if it just stopped one day randomly, or your solinoid and its contributing wiring went south.

It happens to me to and it' the same swap.
My vtec will comes on and some time it shuts off with CEL on. Looked up the code and it was the oil pressure swich. I drove it like that for about 4-5 months and then decided to try and use the S2000 oil filter (Biger) since that day my vtec works ALL THE TIME and NO CEL. You might wanna test that out.

time for an oil change maybe??? make sure you have plenty of oil, check the oil pressure...... if that doesnt help, it could be your vtec solenoid

Does your speedometer work? If not, then plug the Vehicle Speed Sensor back into your transmission properly.

Don't worry about the solenoid....if your speedo doesn't work then that is your biggest problem.
vtec needs 3 things to work
1. oil pressure
2. VSS signal (speedometer has to be working)
3. motor has to be warmed up to operating temp
