Default 9.3:1 or 8.5:1 Compression good for FI ??

Hi I am wondering if 9.3:1 Compression is good for a turbo or supercharger setup or should I go with 8.5:1 ? What are the differences.

Using ROSS Pistons by the way . Heard alot of good things about them.

9.3-1 would be good, 8.5-1 is too long imo

Thanks Lude - I was thinking that 9.3:1 would be better - so that's what I will use. Anyone else think's the same?

I would say that 9.3:1 is still a little low for anything.. 8.5:1 is just crazy..

What would be an ideal compression ratio then for about 10 to 15 PSI of boost ? Remember this is a B18C1 .020 overbore. Thanks.

9.5:1 to 9.8:1 is perfect.. Why 10psi or 15psi??? Why not 100psi or 2psi.... Aim for a HP goal and run whatever psi it takes to get to that goal..

Ok but will 9.3:1 work well? The Ross pistons/rings I am getting are 9.3:1. I was told that I do not have to sleeve the block as I am not running really high boost at all.

BTW tgreaves do you still have that MSD SCI for sale? If so, I am interested but since I am a newbie I can't IM you are anything - so can you email me at : fastcivic@insightbb.com

Thanks.

ive heard gsr blocks could hold decent boost. and ive seen a tech article saying that it is common to see boosted engines with compression ratios up 11.0-1 easy. but this would not be a good ideal for daily driving cause u probably would most definately be using racing fuel to help prevent detonation with such large amouts of compressed air inside of the cylinder. i am about to start building a b20/VTEC bored stroked sleeved and everything with a 10.5-1 compression ratio and high boost from a t3/4 turbo and plan on putting well over 600-700 to the wheels.
happy tunning
traction sux in hondas!!!!!!!
