Cutting moons into piping. HOW TO?

Default Cutting moons into piping. HOW TO?

IM putting together a cage and dont have a cutter to moon cut the ends of my
pipes. Any cool tips or tricks on doing that so the pipes but together perfectly???

I was just using my grinder, but it takes forever.

better than a grinder would simply be a hole. which is what real notchers use...

I've heard of people drawing two lines (to make a triangle) into the end of the pipe, cut with a chop saw and grind out to neccessary spec. This would probably be the last way you would want to do it, but it's an option.

Go big, or go home, eh.

Laser Notcher, End Mill, Hole Saw, Die grinder, bench grinder, there's a ton of ways to do it.

Cool tips - Be patient.

After you've done it enough, you don't even need a sharpie, you can just see the notch.

I would hope that if you were building a cage, you would have done this before.

Yeah, just cut slow and invest in some good saws.

im not trying to cut the pipes, i just need them moon notched.

No, i have never built a cage, thats why i am buying a pre built cage that just needs to be welded together.

You need a tubing notcher to cut "moons". Check link above.
