Default Will this be a reliable DAILY DRIVER setup?

Haven't done the swap yet. But am looking at a b18c1 swap into my 00 EK. If I get Skunk2 Stage 1 Cams, Valve Springs, Intake manifold along with the standard I/H/E - will I be pretty much in clear of being a reliable daily driver? Not looking to smoke everyone, but do want it to have some punch.

OR

I am better spending the extra $1000 and going with a b18c5 motor and call it a day.

IMO spend the extra 1000 and get a ITR. Reliable, LSD, and you get the nice looking red valve cover.

No seriously , if you plan to go all out I would say B18c1 but if you just wanna ride get the C5.

Depends on what your goals are ... you plan on staying NA or going boost later on?

Pretty much staying NA. I'd love to boost it, but I know I will never end up doing that. Wife will be needing a new car pretty soon, then a house....and then a kid. i know, i know. This motor swap will be my last 'hoorah'

But my goal is to have a pretty fast car, and reliable so I can drive it back and forth to work everyday and anywhere else for that matter.

Well IMHO, buying a B18C5 with boost in mind is pretty pointless. Again, just my 02 cents.

B18C5 has great motor potential but the compression is high. (high compression and boost is a bad mix unless you invest some serious coin into re-enforcing your engine)

If you wanna go FI, I'd say get the B18C1 and boost that, it has great potential.

Just lay out your goals and go from there man

Right. But I am NOT planning on FI. Just NA. So with that, I guess you would say go with the C5 route
