This is my block when i removed the cylinder head. Sorry for the picture not showing it that well. But the motor detonated and cracked the sleeve and broke the entire top off the piston in cylinder one. Now how it happen. I will say both stories and let you decide which one it is.

I took the car on Jan. 21 to Rage Performance to get my cams, valvesprings, and retainers installed before the event at cali speedway the 22nd and also to get retuned and up the nitrous alittle. The motor was on a 60 shot wet Plate NOS system. It ran strong and went 12.6 at palmdale. Well it got time to tuning and they made about 4 passes on the car all motor and did the a/f. Then he said , " Ima make a nitrous pass" Well he started to make the pass and didnt open the bottle and squeezed and fell on its face cuase it was soo rich and he stopped.

Then I told him the bottle wasnt open well he opened it and then started with another run. He got into 3rd and he got on the gas and around 4k hit nitrous and 400 rpms into the pass the motor just died. After that they inspected and said that it was the plate design that made cylinder one go out. Because cylinder 1 sees nitrous first and it would lean out. They said the motor ONLY had 13 degrees of timing in it and wouldnt have blown cuase i also had 104 octane in it.

So they blammed the design of the nitrous plate. Well when the car got home one of my good friends that works at Honda came over and took the thing apart with me. First thing we noticed how much timing the motor had. It was fully advanced. So my buddy says they put WAY too mcuh timing in the motor and they say it only had 13. I had over 5 local guys see the thing and they all said it ran way to lean and had too much timing. But I left it at that and went all motor now. Thats what happens when you play with nitrous...

Got this motor from a friend for free. Not sure what exactly happened. Guessing it was an overrev since we found a valve (or two) in the oilpan. Sorry, don't have any pics of the head as the guy threw it away before we got the shortblock from him.

(misc goodies found in the oilpan)

(part of the piston wedged in the crank)

This is like watching a train wreck. You just can't stop looking. I am happy to say that I have no blown pics to contribute, my condolences to everyone else though....

Final stretch in 4th gear when suddenly the engine siezed and died. Took it apart and this is what i found.

A valve dropped.
Both head and block suffered permanent damage and can no longer be used.
