Default GSR B18C1 Head Question

Hi, I am currently putting together a B18C1 that is going to be OBD1 since my car already is OBD1.

I would like to know what difference is there between the OBD1 and OBD2 GSR Head?

If I get a OBD2 head what do I need to do to make it work or am I better off with a OBD1 head?

BTW I am still looking for a complete head...

Thanks.

all you would need to make it work is an obd1 distributor and obd1 injectors. Other than that i don't know what the difference would be, prolly not any gain in performance with 1 over the other.

its plug and play; if using a obd2 dizzy all you need to do is re-pin the plug

^^^^^thats not true. My my dizzy bearing took a crap on me on my obd1 b16 so i got an obd2 gsr dizzy. I tried to repin the plug, and even did it sucessfully, so i thought, but the plug on the dizzy wouldn't plug into the plug on the harness. The pins on the obd2 dizzy are longer and don't fit into the plug on the harness side properly. I used the plugs from the b16's dizzy (b/c obd1 dizzy's use 2 plugs and obd2 use 1 big plug) so they would plug into the harness but it wouldn't fit right
So, just cut the plugs off, soldered and shrink wrapped the wires....haven't had a problem since.

but the pins on the obd1 plugs and the pins on the obd2 plug are different. I don't see how changing the plug will allow them to plug in properly. Unless using the obd2 harness plug allows this, but i didn't try that.
Another way is cutting the distributor plug off the harness from an obd2 integra and soldering it onto the harness from your car....if you really wanted to keep the plug on there.

well than i must have been doing something wrong because after i put the obd1 plugs onto the obd2 gsr dizzy they wouldnt plug in all of the way....i noticed that the pins on the obd2 dizzy were longer than the pins on the obd1 dizzy.

what is that a pic of? .....and don't say the dizzy plug....i know that much....but which one?
