I use engine degreaser on my B18B. I have a CF Imoto hood that has a lot of air flow inside the engine bay so all the dirt from the desert gets in it when it's windy. I also use armor-all type of stuff for the hoses and plastic rubbery parts that get really dirty. I use a brush to get all the grime off things too. It works for me.

...... ....to me it attracts more dirt.....if you really got a dirty engine bay use "gunk" works wonders.....but if its just a lil dusty i spray it down with H2O then wipe clean.

Simple Green works wonders, besides it doesn't leave any residue on hoses or paint. Besides once your engine is clean Simple Green would be the easiest way to maintain it also.

Simple green safest!
- Smells the best!

Gunk degreases the best!

I use Gunk Engine Brite, then in between I use 10:50 Simple green/water mix. Never detail engine when warm/hot/ or even onlyed chilled for a few hours. You can crack your crankcase or other various engine/metal parts. Let engine idle when done to dry off. Don't get water near spark plugs/valve cover or electircal devices. Now that I've scared you, good luck!
