Default difference between .48 stage III or V, and standard .63 AR exhaust housing?

how much of a difference in flow in there from a stage 3 or 5 .48 housing versus a .63 standard exhaust housing.

what are the stages and how do they affect the turbos performance???

My .48 spooled 200 rpm earlier but the .63 made a bit more power from mid range all the way to the top. I think the .63 is better for higher boost cause it flows more.

was that on a B series or a D series?

what power levels were you achieving with either?

It is a typical stage 3.

Yes I have. I ran it on my stock bore B18B with 8.8:1 compression and a stage 3 57 trim T04B.

The .48 starts to make possitive pressure right around 2k RPMs and hits full boost (1 bar) by 3 to 3.5k.

I don't have any numbers for you as far as power is conserned, but the .48 does start to die out from 7-8k. It also powered my car (.90bar at the time) to a 13.5 @ 110.8 mph with a 2.327 60ft.

Hope all that helps a little. </TD></TR></TABLE>

VTEC head?

Also, how would you compare this turbine (in size, and flow) to a td05?

thanks guys!

i have the .63 AR hot side on my turbo B16 now, but it has a very aggressive compressor wheel that i dont like, right now i get almost full boost at 5000-5100 rpms, i want something a little better spooling

also this is in a "B" housing, i think an "E" with a 60 trim would do the trick tho

i have the .63 housing on my turbo at the moment. Currently i am runninh 10psi. it goes to like 1psi at about 3500 then just jumps to 9psi at about 5000. note however this is a d15b. Would it make more sense for me to try and get a turbonetics .48 housing to build power faster? I am going to be running about 15-17 psi daily as soon as i hit the Dyno. (note: the block is built)

thats pretty much my question too!

i know that all my frineds with built D series run the .48 just in different stages, and i understand that the larger the AR is for higher revving and engines that have more exhaust flow, and pressure.

im just wondering if a B16 which is still 81mm could use a .48 but in a different stage like a 3 or a 5.

i would switch to a .48 on a sohc

to be honest i dont mind building power a bit later because when it actually comes in the car feels very good. the other day i was on the road with a friend we both pulled up at the light together. He drives an evo 3 RS. he did have the launch but when the boost kicked in with my car the race was locked. i am guessing the smaller back housing would move the power band more into the rpm range which would make more sense... i am not the expert so someone else can share their info...
