What engine fits 98 civic LX?

What engine fits 98 civic LX?
What engine will fit in an automatic 1998 civic LX? Would a D15 SOHC Vtec motor go in? If things dont go well with my brothers motor- we are going to swap a motor into it. We dont want to have to do any special fabbing, or spend a ton of money. the stock engine is a D16y7

Another y7 would be straght forward and probably just as cheap as a d15....plus you wouldnt have to mess with obd1 change-over stuff.
A d16y8 can also go in there if you wire up vtec
Any Bseries can go in also, with little modification/new parts

Yes, another Y7 or Y8 would be ideal. I prefer Y7, but where could I find one? I have searched online and cant find any JDM sites, or forums/sellers to get it from.
