I know of guy owns the Aladdin Alarm and put it in his S2000. He said it works and everything. But the quality is not very great. He told me not to get it. So thats one persons opinion.

Don't get it. I have 3 friends that bought that alarm and had a rough time finding a shop to install it and getting it to work. The brain went bad on two of the purchases and the fuses had to be changed and an extra relay had to be implemented in one situation to get the unlock to work properly on a 91 MR2. The alarm was installed for 3 different cars, 91 MR2, 99 Si, 92 Prelude. All had different problems. So...save yourself the headache and get something else that actually has good support here in the states.

Aladdin? Never heard of that....sounds like cheapo though. I wouldn't get it.

If you want a good alarm get a Clifford - Avital, Viper, Audiovox, or maybe a Crimestoper. IMO.

Platinum Presteige, DEI, Alpine....

Good quality alarms. Honestly, I have no freakin clue what 'quality' is supposed to mean since all the features have pretty much standardized, but those three listed have great support and flexibility in their installation as you can add sensors and acessories to do almost anything you like.

Remember, an alarm is only as good as it's sensors !

Viper is a good security system as long as you get the right features. Dont get Codealarm, they have a tendency to short out and burn.

are these similar to aladdin?. they look alike... well, so some people like those and some other people think itz crap .. i see i see.. well, i'm going to think about it and will decide.. because i haven't find any shop that will install a "aladdin" security.. itz so hard to find a place.. and they don't even know what those are... what about 'compustar'?.. are they reliable?

I have a Clifford AvantGuard alarm on my car and it has been very relaible.. in the 3-4 years of ownership i have never had a problem with it.. i got this to replace my Viper 800 HF which someone who broke into my car wreaked havoc on so i had to get a new alarm after the car was recovered (minus stereo and leather interior)....

Alpine is another good alarm my friend has the 8049 (i think) and he hasnt had any trouble with it, nor has he had his car stolen... i'd recommend Clifford, Alpine, and DEI/Viper.. this is from personal experience either w/ my own ownership/use.. or my friends..

im not sure what brand/model number my friends alarm was.. but he had something similar to what you were looking for on his Eclipse GST.. he got the alarm for $800 based on the fact that the alarm had an image of a car that looked similar to the 95-00 Eclipse (yeah nice decision making).. i told him to get the Clifford Concept 60.. but he wanted whatever brand he got w/ 2 way communication, LCD display and a car that looked like his eclipse on the remote..
he had problems w/ it not locking/unlocking the doors after a few months and shortly after he got his Volk AV3's his car got stolen..

anyway this is just from personal experiences..

there is another thread on this alarm where Teken had a long post do a search

My 2 suggestion for alarm. Either get DEI (*makers of Viper, Python, HOrnet, etc.,) or Alpine. Get anything else and you'll regret it.
