Default New Clutch...but still very loose and engages late???

I just bought a new exedy clutch kit and had it professionally installed in my 1997 civic hx.

Nothing happens for the first 3 inches when you push the clutch down. And its very loose...like to easy to push down...and right when you let go of the clutch it takes a while for the gear to engage, this is highly noticable in 1st and 2nd gear. another thing, my mechanic said my flywheel was fine and did not need any resurfacing.

seriously please all comments appreciated....thanks for ur time.

Re bleed the clutch line. Sounds like air in the system. If the flywheel had hot spots in it, it will slip also.

I think the pedal is loose
There are 2 nuts that need attention, and the rod - both are at the top of the clutch pedal.
Loosen the one on the rod, and spin the rod to adjust the engagement.
Then adjust the button on the front side

I am swapping in a b16a with a exedy oem clutch kit and a 12lb Gripforce flywheel. The oem clutch kit is supposed to be 15% more clamping force. Hopefully this will be a good street combo. Sorry, but yeah sound like the problems in the pedal.
