my timing is 29 degree on idle! HELP!!
okay, first of all i've been having problem with my car losing power, i took it to my teacher and he said that it's the timing.
today, i took it to my boss, and let him check the timing. it turned out that the timing was at 29 degree when it's suppose to be at 12. my boss said that my timing belt missed a gear.
any idea on how to fix this??
thanks for reading

wholly **** you are saying your timing is a 29 degrees advanced. I'm suprised your motor didn't blow up yet. Didn't you hear detonation (ping ping ping)???
yeah it must be your timing (jumped a tooth).

technicaly I don't know how your car is running. I was 4 degrees advanced on my old civic runining shitty gas I heard it pinging like crazy I had to pull over and retard it as much as I could.
so either you are in some deep ****
or your boss is BS you

the thing is my car runs ok in lower rpm (under 3k) above that, than i can feel it losing power. i heard the car pinging under load, eg. if i'm going up hill.

yeah advanced timing will bring up a torque somewhat, but it will kill your top end.
