The difference in flow between a GSR and a B16 head is so minute that you probably arn't going to notice it in a FI application. It'll do you worse if you keep the B16 cams in the B16 head.

will my numbers definately be higher with the bigger block? assuming same turbo setup, same turbo manifold, same intake, same 14 psi, just bigger block? how much more power? if that can be answered

I would assume if nothing else you'll atleast gain some torque.

I'm running this setup.

Made 335whp 255lbs/ft torque at 14-15psi.

I still have b16cams and b16 IM, and they are both killing me. I stop making power at 7000rpms.

I'm also running a turbo that's kind of small. Precision sc50.

My 2 cents.

680 whp at 26 lbs. boost.
B18C1 block 84 mm bore
B16 head/JG turbo cams

But a lot of other things playa part of that as well. I.E turbo, intake manifold, etc.

this might be a dumb or weird question, but lets say with a b16a2 motor you stopped making power at 8k rpm. then you switched out the b16a2 block for a b18c1 block. would the power stop sooner or make more power at a higher rpm? everything else is the same.

I could tell you right out, because before the b18c1 I HAD a straight b16a2, running the same compression same turbo and everything, and it made 298whp 213lbs at around the same boost level. The thing though, was that power was going up all the way to 8500rpms.
Once I swapped the blocks out the b18c made more power and torque, but it could no longer breathe at the high rpms like the b16 did. The b16 cams are just not matched well to the b18c bottom end. GSR cams and a JG Intake manifold would probably land close to a 60whp gain on my setup, if not more.

i see what you mean, this is the stuff i have been wanting to know, the b16 cams cant really handle the bigger stroke of the 1.8 block. thanks man
