Default B18c1 block with a B16 head?

I have a B18C1 that I'm building up for a turbo. A few people told me to use a B16 Head. Does it make a Dif our is it the right way to go. I am machining already ported and polished the block with block guards. IF i use the B18 head or get a B16 head I will be machine it also.
Does and one have any sugestions on what internals I should go with( ie. Rods, pistons, valves, spring, and so on)
Its going in a 98EK hatch

did they tell you why you should use the b16 head?

the only thing that would be beneficial about doing that would be losing a little bit of compression from the larger combustion chamber.

gsr cams > b16 cams

there is a post somewhere that shows the flow chart for the b16 and b18c1 heads, and they are really close...why spend the money?

b16 heads flow better than gsr heads which is a big factor in a turbo setup

the gsr cams are better than b16 however you can swap the gsr camshafts in the b16 so the head would be much better over gsr

if the head is PNP then it would have great flow ability

basicly the TYPE R head is a b16 head with better a slightly better valve train

the itr head is also pnp from factory.

b16 is a all overall better head

with the expection of the gsr camshafts being better in the gsr head

so a good set up for turbo would be a b16 head with gsr cams?

IMO just a b16 head will do some good in a turbo application more so than gsr

ported and polished b16 head isnt needed as it flows great from factory

however more flow will not hurt anything as more flow will be better for turbo

IMO i would scratch the gsr camshafts and go with a full ITR valvetrain, that setup would be much better
